The Music of My Mind

peeling sunburn

My sunburn is peeling. Its not very happy.

I quit the Copper Cellar Corporation. I now work at Buffalo Wild Wings.

I am still with Eric. It will be nine months on Tuesday. I am very happy, and would not trade any of this for the world.

Kat and I are moving into our apartment on May 1. I'm super excited (said in Al Gore on South Park voice) because it will mean that we can escape the hell known as the UT dorms. I get to bring Peter the kitten, and Kat gets to bring her Scuttles. Whee! We will have our own washer and dryer in the apartment, so no more laundry rooms for us! Score.

Umm... I've gotten a new phone since I last updated this thing. I loves it so. And it is green.

I'm watching Home Movies on Adult Swim. Party and a half over here.

I get to see Black Rebel Motorcycle Club for the fourth time next Thursday. They're just so damn awesome.

You know, I never use this thing. I had to go to my Facebook profile to get the link back to this to log in. Haha.

I feel a mild headache coming on, and I have an anatomy lab in the morning... Blech.

Laterz yo.

Sweet....I have posted again!

Well, the last time I wrote a blog was in April. So I figure that I should write one now, update the internet (because no one else will read this) on my life.

Summer was pretty decent. The job at American Eagle did not pan out. So, to quote Cartman, I said “Screw you guys, I’m going home.” Well, I didn’t go home… I went and basically sold my soul to the Copper Cellar Corporation, specifically their Cumberland Grill / Copper Cellar location. Its turned out pretty well there. Now, while they have pissed me off on several occasions, I have made some lovely friends there.

I, of course, would be very lax if I did not mention perhaps the most important part of the summer. Yes, ladies, gentlemen, and the internet, Jennifer ended her single streak. No, it wasn’t with the person that in my last entry I said I had my eye on. Instead... Well, lets tell a long story shall we? I went to a concert here in Knoxville one night, and ran into this lovely male named Eric in a BRMC shirt, who turned out to be from Ohio. Long story short, we discovered that we're eerily alike, both in tastes for the arts, but in alot of other things, as well. So, we decided that even though he was going back to Ohio, the connection was just too much to ignore... And Monday marked our three month anniversary. I have put many many miles on my car trekking to Ohio and back three times. And he has done the same. Its not cheap, but so worth it.

So, school has started back. Between classes and work, I feel that I have some sort of chronic fatigue. Like last night... I slept for almost nine hours, and I have felt like I am going to fall over all day. Meh. Its what I get for selling my soul to the Copper Cellar Corporation.

In May, I shall be moving into my very own apartment (no sub-lets for me this time). I'm excited. I'll be living by myself again... Hopefully I will get a kitten soon after moving in. I'm just tired of living like a gypsy. Time for me to find a place and put my things down.

I've got an economics lab bright and early in the morning. Any classes starting before 10 should be illegal. Then, its working literally all weekend, and a French paper to write. Great. *shoots self* Oh well. I'll get to see Eric in about three weeks. Must. Keep. Going.

Adieu.

"I'm glad you're with me Sam, here at the end of all things."

Well here I sit in my butterfly chair that resembles Cookie Monster. It's 11:46 pm on the final day of April 2007 as I commence typing this.

Classes are over. Exams will be beginning soon. Its hard to believe that my first two semesters of college are over...

I'll be going home in the evening on 8 May. However, fret not, I will be returning to Knoxville on 20 May to move into my sub let. How ahhhmazing. Then its time to start working at American Eagle.

In celebration of this apartment... I'm going to do something rather bold and rather painful tomorrow morning. :-D

CSI is back on now.

My My, Things Change in a Year, Don't They?

My last post was almost a year ago now. Haha. Wow. (Not that anyone reads this anyhow.)

Last post, I was talking about prom. Well, I'm way past that now. Instead of worrying about what the band will play at prom, I'm hearing a concert thrown by some people running for student government outside my dorm window in Knoxville.

At long last I've gotten out of Bell Buckle. I'm getting out (slowly) of Shelbyville. Hopefully this time next year I will be signing an apartment lease here in Knoxville so that I never have to leave when they close the dorms again.

I'm no longer a pre-vet major like I set out to be. What am I now? I'm an Animal Science major with a concentration in "production and business". Minors include Agricultural Economics and French.

Alot of other things have changed for me as well. I've discovered that there is far more to life than wearing tee shirts and jeans all the time. Show some cleavage. God gave me what little I have, so why not? I still don't buy clothes just because some fashion magazine full of anorexic models tells me they are cool. I buy the clothes I buy simply because I like them. I shop at a store here in Knoxville alot called Serendippity. It mainly caters to the sorority crowd (which I have considered joining), but I still think the clothes are nice there.

I've all but abandoned fan fiction. Oh reading it is fun at 4 am when I'm working the dorm desk. I just don't write it. I'm still holding onto the feeble threads of that West Wing story I started because all NBC.com said about Arnold Vinick's wife was that her name was Catherine (like my middle name...) simply because there isn't another story like it on FanFiction.net (I've looked.) No more Who fan fics for me. I need to go to that old geocites site that I started and remove all traces of Who fan fictions. I can't believe that I actually wrote those... Wow.

I've discovered that original stories are the way to go. Hands down. I get to play God. As it stands currently, I've got three open. Two are original makeovers of former Who fan fics... The third one is that same story I've been trying to write since the 9th grade when Miss Cheney was helping me. The plot has undergone some major renovations... And now its poised to be a great story. Hopefully it'll get made into a movie starring Robert Englund and Eric Szmanda one day.

((I love planning out the movie to my novel before its finished. The soundtrack to the aforementioned story *starring* Robert Englund and Eric Szmanda is great. Contains everything from Iggy Pop to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club to The Killers and that "Tears on My Pillow" song.))

I've picked up knitting again. I've paused knitting a sweater-coat because the store here ran out of yarn. Now I've commenced knitting my Halloween costume. Its going to be a modified version of this iconic sweater:
Yes. Jennifer is going to be a *sexy* Freddy Krueger for Halloween. Gonna make the sweater a v-necked dress. I've got the fedora, a brown pair of tights... All I need is a dark pair of Doc Martens and Freddy's glove (which I know where to find). However, I have run out of green yarn at this present time and cannot purchase anymore until I get paid again.

Speaking of Mr. Krueger... As much as some people are afraid to go to sleep after watching one of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies (I go to sleep right after them and have pleasant dreams, thank you for asking.), I find him an intriguing character. After hearing and seeing his life story scattered throughout the movie series and finally put all together in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare... He may terrify people in their dreams, but I feel sorry for him in a way. His mother was raped my a hundred maniacs in a place for the criminally insane. He was mocked as a child and beaten by Alice Cooper. He picked the Elm Street kids to kill in their dreams because well, their parents killed him, but they also got his daughter taken away. (Interesting how a child murderer loves his own child so much...) People have dreams that he kills them? I have dreams that I'm allied with him somehow. Of course, I wake up before I get to tell him who I'd love for him to annihilate. *snap*

But I digress... Back to lessons learned, etc in a year...

Fake nails can be a girl's friend when professionally put on.

Victoria's Secret is a great store. As are American Eagle and Aéropostale and Abercrombie and Fitch.

Possibly the biggest change since this time last year... I've discovered that I apparently hold some kind of seductive powers with at least one member of the opposite sex. However, I'm no longer dating that member of the opposite sex. I was kinda torn up at the time (because I guess I should have seen it coming but didn't) but now realize that relationship ending was a blessing in disguise. According to some friends, apparently I could do so much better. Don't get me wrong, at the time, this relationship was one of the greatest things that'd ever happened to me (right behind meeting Peter Hayes)... Anyone who knows me knows that I don't like to waste time, and (sorry to the member of the opposite sex being discussed here) that's pretty much what this was. It was never going to last.

Although, it wasn't a total waste of my time. I did learn some valuable lessons from it. Like (*embarrassed face*) how to kiss properly and that Borat is NOT a movie you go see on a date. Another great lesson learned? Just because a member of the opposite sex likes the same music as you, looks like the guy you could see yourself dating in high school, and tells you what you think you want to hear does not mean that he is a prince.

Never fear however... I've got my eye on someone else. Don't know if anything will ever come of it. Probably not, but its alright with me. It'd be nice if it did, but if it doesn't, I won't be unhappy. Glad I have this new person as a friend regardless.

Sleeping is a golden activity.

And most importantly? I've seen The Who in concert.

Some things, however, never change. I'm still in love with the same old men (Alan Alda, Harrison Ford, Ringo Starr, and Roger Daltrey) with a few new ones mixed in (Robert Englund, William Peterson, Hugh Laurie)... Still listen to the same old music (The Beatles, The Who, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club...) with new stuff (mainly individual songs, but I've discovered Sean Lennon) mixed in. Same movies, same TV shows, both with new ones there, too. Heh. :-D

I saw 300 finally tonight with a friend from my French class. Wow it was amazing. Nothing short of amazing. Gerard Butler just grew up so much in my book. Ok, so he proved he could sing in Phantom of the Opera, proved that he could kick some ass in Timeline and Tomb Raider 2, but he's come into his own now. I now have decided to have two children: Daniel Craig Jr and Gerard Butler Jr (with each man respectively fathering his own child. *wink*)

I don't have alot more to say... However, it is right smack dab in the middle of a 4-8 am shift at the dorm desk... I'll go back and add stuff in the middle...

Birthday

Happy birthday to me (Sunday). That's right. I'm now legal. Watch out Peter Hayes, it's not statuatory rape anymore.

So, now everyone's going to start asking what I got for my birthday. Here's the lowdown:

**The Essential Bob Dylan compilation
**Must Love Dogs on DVD
**$40
**three "Vinick for President" buttons, a Vinick bumper sticker, and a Vinick tee shirt
**a webcam
**a nice tiny laptop mouse
**and best of all a laptop.

That's right. Jennifer now has her own laptop. His name is Peter and he is a HP Pavillion dv8000. Pimp, no? Peter has got a lightscribe drive and everything. He can go wireless, but I have to work to set that up. Am currently working to bend him to my will.

My nails are too long and they make a funny sound on Peter's keys.

Speaking of birthday presents, NBC gave me one... They're cancelling The West Wing after this season. The way the paper was talking, they might announce who the next president would be in the last ep this season. Hope so.

Blargh. I don't want to read Hamlet...

I'm gone.

Sick

This thing just deleted my entire post. Blargh.
